about

On September 14th 2007, James Peach, sound guy and engineer extraordinaire, pressed 'record' on his laptop after he had us dialed in off of the sound board. None of us had any idea James was recording the gig. The result was this drunken snapshot in time of The Press Gang during it's 'drunken Punk' incarnation. We were still 2 years away from raising enough funds to properly record our debut self titled album,. but until then, we had Demotronicus, and THIS live offering as well a slew of kickin T-Shirts at the Merch table which would fund our first album down the line. This night was very special to us, and we hope you enjoy our drunken antics and hopefully the drunken memories if you were there that night. The Stetson was our drunken home base in Calgary for our formative years. And a lot of it was possible because of Isaac Creasey as well. He would book us constantly, and down the line, he would be our drummer for a short period of time. RIP Isaac Creasey. and RIP The Stetson. If you were there, you know, if not, well, now you have this.

Half the band hails from the East Coast and the other half the West. East meets West in a hodge podge of The Heavy. This mix of coasts and influences has bred something sweet and unique, otherwise known as “The Heavy”. ... more
